The role is based out of Thailand.
The purpose of the Mercy Ministry Coordinator is to guide, organize, schedule and provide leadership for the GFM, Thailand HUB in its activities of compassion and mercy. The role is also intended to provide inspiration for others who have an interest in the GFM’s mercy ministry work in Thailand. We want our emphasis to be on personally serving members of our community so we can develop relationships and, hopefully, have others feel the love and compassion of Jesus Christ. The role is full-time and support-raising is required.
Key Responsibilities
- He/she will create and coordinate a supportive mercy program to meet the HUB Community’s ministry needs, which might include: food, house maintenance, legal advice, medical services, counseling, mortgage/rent/utility expense, financial planning/budgeting, disaster response and encouragement to single moms/widows etc.
- Stay informed of needs and opportunities within GFM’s Thailand HUB Community.
- Represent GFM and its core values while acting as a host for its mercy support work.
- As well as meeting individuals’ physical needs, provide prayer, emotional and spiritual support, with a view always of finding opportunities of sharing the gospel with recipients thus supporting the Multiplication Strategy of the Thailand Hub.
Required Qualifications
- Must personally embrace GFM’s purpose, vision, values, and statement of faith
- Must identify as a maturing believer in Jesus Christ with a high view of Scripture (2 Tim 3:16-17; Col 3:16-17)
- Must demonstrate humility, teachability, and an ability to work well with others (Eph 4:15)
- Must display advanced interpersonal relational skills and be dedicated to peacemaking (Heb 10:24-25)
- Must function well both independently and in a team environment (1 Cor 12:25-26)
- Must be able use or learn internal communications and technology systems (Email, Google Drive, Slack, CRM, etc.)
- Must have a passion to see individuals active in God’s Kingdom through missions of mercy
- Must be able to cast the vision of general missions topics to those involved in ministry
- Must be ready to experience significant missions training and discipleship through GFM’s Missionary Training School (in person sessions or online)
Recommended
- Experience in cross-cultural missions and mission activities
- Comprehend and speak English with the general public and co-workers
- Experience working with teams and having demonstrated a team player’s positive attitude
- Be able to use or learn internal communications and technology systems (Email, Google Drive, Slack, CRM, etc.); optional but helpful - working experience with other software programs
- Be comfortable and competent with public speaking in large and small group settings
- Demonstrates enough technological proficiency to effectively manage a heavy email work load; communicate through email and video conferencing; create and edit presentation materials
- Bible & theology – Needs to have a broad knowledge and understanding of God’s word; how to apply it to life and ministry as well as a solid foundation of essential doctrines of Christian faith
